I for one believe that the human element of OOTP makes it so appealing. If it was simply a baseball simulation with robotic players with no connection to one another, it would be doing realism an injustice. What makes sport so enticing and enjoyable are the human stories and the different personalities that come with each player. If OOTP was to completely disregard that part of the experience, it would quite frankly be taking a step backward.

I understand that OOTP will never perfectly capture this sort of realism, but any effort helps. It gives me an attachment to the players on my team and around the league, making it that much more fun to root for them and see them succeed. It is for that reason (among others) that I switched from Baseball Mogul to OOTP. If I wanted a pure simulation, I wouldn't be playing OOTP. I want an experience, and that is why I play this game.
