Round 3:

Bob Fitzsimmons vs Les McAteer - Fitzsimmons spent the first 2 rounds peppering McAteer from outside, then landed a wicked cross off the top of his head to start the 3rd. Another knockdown and several hard shots later, the referee had seen enough. 3 TKO for Fitzsimmons.

Howard Eastman vs Vince Hawkins - Eastman scored a pair of knockdowns early, and pretty much had his way with Hawkins throughout, but the penultimate blow was a hard hook to the jaw that put Hawkins away for the 15th round KO.

Randy Turpin vs Ted Moore - Turpin scored a pair of knockdowns while coasting to a 13-2, 12-2, 12-2 decision over Moore.

Jock McAvoy vs Bunny Sterling - Sterling scored a knockdown in the 5th for the count of 9, only to have McAvoy storm back with 4 knockdowns of his own enroute to a 10-2, 9-3, 8-5 decision.

Michael Watson vs Dick Turpin - Turpin put forth a good effort, but couldn't handle Watson's power as he went down 4 times, including 2 times in the fatal 12th round. He got up from both, but wasn 't able to defend himself so the referee stopped the punishment for the TKO by Watson.

Alan Minter vs Herol Graham - Minter scored a knockdown for the count of 8 in the 2nd but couldn't put Graham away. He continued to pile on the points, but ran out of gas half way through, and Graham outboxed him the rest of the way for a narrow 7-6, 7-7, 9-6 majority decision.

Johnny Pritchett vs Charley Mitchell - Pritchett was well ahead when he landed a clean hook to the jaw of Mitchell and put him down for the count in the 13th.

Terry Downes vs Tony Sibson - Good action in this fight that saw Sibson go down twice, but storm back each time to keep the fight close. Downes was able to open a cut right on Sibson's hairline that bled so profusely that the doctor ordered the bout halted in the 13th. Downs was ahead 6-5, 5-6, 6-5 in what was still a wide open fight!
