If the company could release a patch for one platform and not another it'd most likely leak out and people would be throwing a fit over having to wait for a platform version they don't even use though. This would especially be the case for people who don't play in online leagues which I'm sure is a sizable percentage if not the vast majority. Oh, how great that'd be to see: solo players screaming bloody murder that us online leaguers are holding them up from playing the latest patch. I say, no thanks, let them have the patch.

Take out the part about leagues deciding to convert when they shouldn't because they have members who can't and it's really not much different than how it's always been. Some leagues patch immediately and some want others to play the guinea pigs first. Yes, there's the odd time where a new bad online league bug pops up, but if it's gone through beta it should have been online tested so usually a new patch is fine and makes the game better. Still, even if it makes the most sense to patch, some just don't want to and I doubt they'd appreciate being forced to neither.

Even though it was probably pretty obvious, I guess the least OOTP could have done was said, "guys, make sure all your members can use this patch before you convert because you really never know when the other platform version will come out". But then I'd say the leagues that converted should have communicated better with their members as well.

Yet there's still a way around the problem as Alan T detailed.
Um, that was my response to why leagues don't upgrade.

Mine hasn't yet.
