Quarter-Finals:

Len Harvey vs Tony Oakey - Harvey used every inch of the ring, along with punches in bunches to flummox Oakey throughout. He scored the lone knockdown in the 12th enroute to a 9-3, 14-1, 14-1 decision.

John Conteh vs Dean Francis - Conteh chose to be the boxer rather than the slugger as he dominated Francis 9-3, 9-3, 8-4 despite losing 2 points due to an over zealous referee.

Dennis Andries vs Noel McCormick - McCormick showed more power than the slugger Andries in this one, scoring 2 knockdowns. Unfortunately he couldn't sustain the assault for 15 rounds and allowed Andries to earn his way back to a 7-7, 7-7, 8-7 (Andries) majority decision. Rematch after the next bout.

Freddie Mills vs Clinton Woods - Mills hurt Woods badly throughout the first round, but wasn't able to seal the deal. The 2 warriors went back and forth throughout in an exciting bout that was finally ended when Woods scored a pair of knockdowns in the 10th round. The 2nd of those resulted in a 10 count as Mills made it up at 8 but then fell back down!

Rematch:

Dennis Andries vs Noel McCormick - Andries didn't allow McCormick the chance for a draw, or a win in this one, scoring a knockdown early, then piling up the points until he landed a perfect hook to start the 12th round. McCormick was out for over 10 minutes, and had to be taken to the hospital where he was kept overnight for observation for a concussion.
