We have 3 entrants for the Jr. Welterweight Division. Miguel Montinilla, the top seed will fight the winner of the following bout:

Pedro Saiz vs Justo Sencion - After an action packed first round, Saiz came out smoking in the 2nd, landing bomb after bomb before landing the KO hook near the end of the round for the 2 KO.

Final:

Miguel Montinilla vs Pedro Saiz - Saiz survived a knockdown in the 6th round of a close fight to scor the KO in the 7th and upset the top seeded Montinilla and earn a berth in the World Tourney.

With 7 fighters entered in the Lightweight tourney, top seeded Vilomar Fernandez will recieve a bye.

Round 1:

Teo Cruz vs Armando Reyes - Cruz was simply dominating, pumping his Jab at Reyes all night long (landed more jabs than Reyes did total punches!). It was that jab that opened a cut over the right eye of Reyes, then kept widening the cut until it was so bad that the fight was stopped in the 13th for the TKO.

Victoriano Sosa vs Francisco Alvarez - Sosa scored 3 knockdowns, the final one for the 10 count in the 10th round.

Darling Jiminez vs Antonio Ramirez - Jiminez won the first 4 rounds handily, but noone expected the lightening fast thunderous hook right at the start of the 5th round that laid Ramirez out like a Christmas Goose!

Semi-Finals:

Vilomar Fernandez vs Darling Jiminez - Fernandez survived a scare in the 7th when he went down for a 9 count to dominate the rest of the way, earning the 12-3, 12-3, 11-4 decision.

Teo Cruz vs Victoriano Sosa - Cruz went down 2 times and Sosa down once within the first 4 rounds, but it was the nasty cut suffered by Sosa that ended things for the TKO in the 5th round.

Final:

Vilomar Fernandez vs Teo Cruz - Fernandez and Cruz put on an entertaining Jab-Fest in this one, with Cruz ahead on 2 of the 3 cards when Fernandez's jab opened a nasty cut inside the right eyebrow of Cruz to end things early in the 5th round by TKO. Fernandez earns the Lightweight berth.

There will be 3 entrants for the Junior Lightweight berth. Wilson Rodriguez gets the top seed and will fight the winner of the first bout:

Edwin Santana vs Ezequiel Sanchez - Santana opened a cut on the right eyelid of Sanchez early on, and his corner couldn't stem the claret flow. In the 4th, it became so bad that the fight was ended for the 4 TKO on cuts.

Final:

Wilson Rodriguez vs Edwin Santana - Rodriguez scored 3 knockdowns in the final 2 rounds to cap a solid decision, 9-5 on all 3 cards. Rodriguez earns the berth in the World Tourney.

Antonio Elpidio Diaz will be the Featherweight entrant.
