I personally think this would get pretty irritating after an inning or two. Hearing some guy recycling the same thing over and over. I prefer to just have the "sounds of the game" as if you were at the ballpark, rather than sitting at home listening to a game.
What I mean is, the cheering (perhaps a little more variety of cheering would be great. I know Padresfan has a couple of mods) and maybe some music playing a bit more often than it does. Maybe even have the announcer come on over the stadium's loudspeaker, saying "Now pitching, Mike Mussinaaaaaa."
But I dunno about having a play-by-play radio-style.
