DR Congo

I'll post all results for DR Congo on this thread:

Heavyweights:

We have 3 heavyweights all rated the same so I picked Biko Botowamungo as the top seed just because I got a kick out of his name...

Semi-Final:

Toto Mubenga vs Rogers Yamba - Yamba built up a lead (I had it 6-4 Yamba) on 2 of the 3 cards. 5-5, 7-3, 7-3 when with 2 seconds left in the 11th round the referee in-explicitly stopped the bout leaving the crowd stunned! He felt that Mubenga was taking too much damage and was unable to defend himself even though he was obviously fighting back!

Final:

Biko Botowamungo vs Rogers Yamba - Some good action at times in this one with Yamba going down once, but otherwise outfighting Yamba to earn the 11-2, 9-4, 8-5 decision.

Light Heavyweights:

Only 2 fighters here.

Lolenga Mock vs Mohamed Siluvangi - Neither man went down, and there were a lot of close rounds but the judges felt Mock the better man with scores of 10-4, 10-4, 10-3.

Tshimanga M'Biye recieves the Super Middleweight berth.

Albert Ngimbi recieves the Middleweight berth.

Junior Middleweights:

2 fighters will meet for this berth.

Alex Bunema vs Jean Pierre Iniama - Iniama looked clueless in this one, losing 11-4, 11-4, 11-4. Bunema earns the World Tourney berth.

Welterweight:

We have 3 fighters here so the top seed, Valery Kayumba will recieve the bye.

Semi-Final:

Andre Kimbu Mboma vs Elvis Mbwakongo - Mboma scored 1 knockdown and did just barely enough to eke out the decision 8-5, 7-6, 7-6.

Final:

Valery Kayumba vs Andre Kimbu Mboma - Mboma went down 2 times in the 13th and 3 times in the 15th but survived to send the decision to the judges. The rounds system didn't help him much as he lost 12-2, 12-3, 11-2. Kayumba heads to the World Tourney.

Tusikoleta Nkalankete is the Jr. Welterweight representative.
