Number of Playoff Appearances: 28
Number of State Championships: 5 (2011, 2062-64, 2075)

Best Players

Best Pitcher: Michael Murphy, starter with Winston-Salem from 2068-2082 - 183 Wins (216 Career)

Murphy arrived in Winston-Salem as the 7th overall pick in 2066 and quickly found himself pitching for a good Twins club that had recently won back to back to back championships. He wasted no time establishing himself with his hometown team, winning 14 games in his first full season with the big club at the tender age of 21. He led the team back to the championship in 2075 in his most dominant season where he posted a 20-6 3.25 ERA season and won Pitcher of the Year (his only time winning the award). Murphy won 2 Gold Gloves and appeared in 2 all-star games in his career.

Best Position Player: Jack Shattuck, 1B for Winston-Salem from 2002-2013

Shattuck would have likely gone down as an all-time great had he not been ravaged by injuries starting at age 27. Prior to that time, Shattuck had battered opposing pitchers continuously, averaging 40+ HR a season and over 120 RBI. He finished with a career .272 BA, 333 HR, and 1131 RBI. He held on long enough to see the Twins win their first championship in 2011. After leaving the Twins via trade to Rocky Mount in 2014, he continued to suffer from injuries until he finally called it quits after the 2015 season. He won 3 Hitter of the Year Awards and appeared in 10 all-star games.

Current Roster

Winston-Salem finished in 4th in 2099 with a record of 81-81. Going forward, they look to be a team on the decline, with only 1B Francis McGehee (.268 29 121) a true threat. The Twins will look to the minors to restock their depleted lineup, potentially bringing up promising SP Phil Christensen (#19 overall prospect) and catcher Kevin Pearce (#30). Superstar in waiting SP Justin Standley (#64) is likely a year away from helping the big club. The Twins will not be contenders barring a major shakeup and FA binge by team management.
