Here are the "Dog Days" of August !!

August 1, 2009

At the end of July we lost RF-Andre Ethier for the remainder of the season. We could not afford to lose another offensive player. It has been the offense that has carried the Dodgers as the pitching has had it's problems except for the bullpen which has stepped it up this past month. The starting rotation ranks 13th in the NL and the bullpen is ranked 2nd.

R-3B-Brian Mathews - PIO Batter of the Month

With our top 2 players on the shelf, we are going to have to overcome to make the playoffs and even win in the playoffs. Ben Sheets was signed to a minor league contract and not sure if he will help at the major league level before the end of the season or not. Hoping to sign him for next year too. Now to the final month and here's to a playoff push!!
