Ranford's Keegan Down with Injury
Bobby Keegan of the Ranford Bulls was injured in today's game against Valmara and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a torn back muscle and he is expected to be out for up to 8 months. It happened while Keegan was making a defensive play.
During the regular season Keegan hit only .220 with 4 home runs in 119 games. Keegan is a good defender and compiled a .983 fielding percentage this year. He played well in the playoffs and had a .308 batting average.
Manager Page Satcher said the veteran Tommy Reiner would replace Keegan in the line-up and play right field. The regular right fielder Warren Gravois will move to center. Satcher also said outfielder Johnny Stratton would be activated for the playoffs and be used as a utility outfielder.
