Fictional, Talent-Only League Looking For Two Owners

The Rising Star League is in its sixth season of online-play, and its 24th season of "existence." The League is currently using OOTP9, but will be converting to OOTPX at current season's end. At that time, we'll also be expanding from 22 teams to 24, switching from four divisions to six, and adding a wildcard to both leagues. It's a big step forward for the league, and a perfect time to join up.

The two aforementioned expansion teams are spoken for, but we do have two open teams currently. So if you're interested in joining an OOTP9 league that will soon be converting, then feel free to read on.

The RSL is a completely fictional league. We use a talent-only system, so current player ratings remain hidden. We sim one week at a time, four times a week: Sunday Night, Tuesday Evening, Thursday Evening, and Saturday Morning. These are the basics, but a full set of our rules can be found here, or by following the link in my signature. Besides the regular day-to-day operation rules, we also have a detailed system for stadium expansion, new stadium construction, as well as stadium naming rights. If you're interested in joining, it's worth reading the rules in full.

Here's a link to the league reports.

Here are the two teams who are available at this moment:

New York Patriots

The Patriots aren't in wonderful shape at the moment. They're 29-45 in the current season, after a somewhat surprising finish last season. They've got some good young players however, including the 26-year-old Jacob Scott and the 23-year-old Angel Plecks. They also have an excellent young closer and a solid young starter. Outside of those standouts, however, the team needs help. Playing in New York of course, they've got funds to improve their team, but they need an attentive owner to bring them back to contention. They've also got one of the league's top prospects, former #2 overall pick Elmo Englehardt, currently tearing up A-Ball.

Unfortunately, the Patriots play in the division that has produced the League Champion every year since we began online play. Competition here is sure to be cutthroat.

Norfolk Titans

As of this post, the Titans sit in 3rd place in their division. At 38-37, they're just 4.5 games back of first place with plenty of games to play. In a division that has been historically hard-fought, they certainly have a shot to make the postseason. After several seasons of rebuilding, Norfolk has shown signs of a readiness to compete over the last year and a half. The future of the Titans is now, with their top two pitching prospects both having made their big-league debuts recently. Jesse Long, #1 pick just two years ago, began the year in AAA but has since made 10 big league starts. The #1 pick three years ago, Vance Holmes, made his big-league debut out of the bullpen just a few games ago. These two young hurlers should be the face of the franchise for many seasons to come.

The Titans are a young team, and as such they'll need an owner who can make the right choices to blend their veterans with their youngsters, and pull Norfolk to the top.

So there you have it. We've got a great league, with great owners. We're just looking to add two more. If you're interested, make sure you read through the rules just so you're fully aware of what you're getting into. Then shoot me a PM either on these forums, on our league forums, via Email (GMYale at gmail dot com), via AIM (handle: Canndgoods), or by replying to this thread with your contact info. Of course I'm willing to answer any questions you might have, so feel free to send me any kind of query. Thanks for your time.
