With that thought in mind, we have hired 22 year old Mike Woods." accoring to Drayton McLane. When asked what his first move as Houston Astros General Manager would be, he replied "For now, I have decided the best thing for this organization would be for me to be not only the General Manager but the on field manager as well. I know many will see this as a somewhat confusing move but in the end Drayton and I beleive it's what best to move towards the future. I will begin the season with little movement as I see now, the pitching staff and lineup for the upcoming season will be announced in the upcoming days. In my stay as the Astros Manager and General Manager, I want to be fan and media friendly an be as open to everyone as I can be."
