April 16, Philadelphia - Third Baseman Paul O'Brien made history Tuesday becoming only the second player in the league to notch 6 hits in one game. A 6 for 6 afternoon included 3 doubles and 2 runs scored. The Red Sox went on to rout the Athletics 16-6.
April 17, Philadelphia - Phillies outfielder, Barrett Christopher, got bad news when he was told earlier today he would miss at least 5 weeks due to a partially torn labrum. The former 4th overall pick in the inagural draft has suffered a vast array of injuries the past two years including a fractured foot, abdominal strain, knee inflammation, shoulder tendinitis, and a previously torn labrum. The 29 year old's days may be limited as the Phillies are having trouble keeping the star out on the field.
April 24, Boston - Recently signed free agent, Rhett Kelley, has set the pace for all Major League batters as he extended his hit streak to 20 games. The former Pirate helped Pittsburgh fall within one game of the pennant last season and may be the final piece of the puzzle for a Boston team that also just fell short last year. His .385 average this year is 60 points above his lifetime average.
