Blue Jays Spring Training 2013
The 2013 version of the Blue Jays have becun arriving at the Bobby Mattick training Center in Dunedin Florida as Spring Training activities are about to kick off. The Jays will open up the 2013 season as the defending American League East Champs and will look to avenge their early exit in the American League Championship to the Kansas City Royals.
The Jays will also have a number of new young faces in camp this season who as a number of moves were made in the offseason to get the team back to within their budget. The Jays traded veterans CF Elijah Dukes, RF Ales Rios and starting SS Carlos Triunfel, SP Dustin McGowan and SP Madison Baumgarner in the offseason. The Jays will have SS Joel Walker, CF David Price, MR Lawrence Harris and MR Willie O'Macken attending their first camp with the Jays.
Toronto will also have a number of their players from within their own Organization getting a chance at camp this season. SP Dan Oakes, SP Ruben Serrano and 3B Mark Terry will all be attending their first training camp with the Jays. SP Dan Oakes has moved the fastest of the three. he was a 3rd Round Pick of the Jays in 2011 out of Harvard and has gone from Short Season A Aubrn to AA New Hampshire and now will be up for a look with the big club. The 23 yearold Canadian will likely start in AAA Las Vegas but is a player to watch this season.
