There were only a few types of hits in the game too, they would always follow one of a few predetermined paths. When the game determined that you hit a single, it would zip through the infield so fast it was literally impossible to do anything about it.
If you got to the ninth inning with less than a four run lead, forget about it, you were toast.
And the songs were pretty lame too.
