Other News:
Giambi Wallops #400
Oakland's 3-1 victory over New York (A) was highlighted by Jason Giambi's 400th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases.
"I didn't see all of them out there," Giambi said with a chuckle, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a World Series!"
In 2 at-bats the Athletics first baseman collected 1 hit in his historic game, scored 1 run, and had 1 run batted in.
His career numbers show Giambi is hitting .286 with a total of 400 home runs.
