Reading Two Games Ahead of Washington with Two Games Left to Play
READING, PA. August 23, 1914 - The Reading Reds have cut it close. Four games ahead going into the month, they started off strong. But after getting swept in a three-game series with the Cleveland club, their lead was cut to just one.
Washington couldn't take advantage of Reading's losses by losing two of three to the Reds themselves.
With two games left, Washington needs to win both and Reading needs to lose both to force a tie. Washington will face off against Pittsburgh at Keystone Park, and Reading will take on the Gothams at the Bronx Oval Grounds.
