Brew Crew Acquire Owings
Milwaukee Continues To Add Depth To Bullpen
MILWAUKEE, WI -- Just a little over two weeks after acquiring reliever Manny Corpas from Colorado, the Milwaukee Brewers are at it again. This time they traded for Red starter, Micah Owings.
Milwaukee traded away two pitching prospects, 22-year old Zach Braddock and 24-year old Dan Merklinger in hopes of building off their NL Central crown.
"It feels great to be on a winning team," said Owings. "The Brewers already had a lot of the pieces to the puzzle, and now they're putting them all together, and adding a few more. I am confident I can help this team reach the ultimate goal next year."
Owings went 7-12 for a poor Cincinnati squad last season, with a 4.46 ERA. He is expected to take on a role as a reliever for the Brewers next year.
