Cooperstown Lifts Year Restrictions
Hall-Of-Fame Requirements Have Changed
COOPERSTOWN, NY -- Today the Baseball Hall-of-Fame in Cooperstown, NY announced it will lift the restriction that a player must be 5 years removed form his playing days in order to be eligible for the Hall-of-Fame.
This could have an immediate impact on players such as Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz, who may all retire following the completion of the 2009 MLB season.
