Regular Season Ends. Jays Finish 10 Games Under .500

The 2009 season has come and gone and it was a tumultous one for the Jays as they literally limped to a record of 76-86 finishing in 4th place in the American League East 18 games behind the division leading Boston Red Sox. Toronto's biggest problem this season was the injury bug as they constantly had 2 or more of their regulars on the disabled list for long stretches of time.

The 2009 World Series would eventually go to the Cincinatti Reds who would defeat the Boston Red Sox in 4 games to 1 to capture the title. With the season over it is expected to be a busy one as the Jays have a numbe rof players who are either free agents or arbitration eligiable. The Jays will also have some holes to fill in their coaching staff as Manager Cito Gaston and Hitting Coach Gene Tennace have both decided to retire.
