After 2009, I started 2010 with an NFL format except no wild cards and 2 expansion teams. I took over Charlotte (AL Southern Division) and Las Vegas was put in the NL Southern. Vegas won it all their first season! Pretty miraculous imo. Of course they also went on a spending binge in FA and John Lackey pitched the season of his life, but still I thought it was pretty wild. I set the protect list to 22 (I figured 9 position players, 4 starters, 4 bullpen, and 5 prospects). Worked out pretty well. There were no elite talents left open and most were 1 dimensional type guys. I had a 2 man lineup with Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo in the 3-4 hole. This season I signed Joe Mauer to a huge deal though, so I think my team will be a lot better.
