for what it is worth - this is how I have solved my problem of using OOTP on multiple PC's without the hassle of moving files around/ worrying about # of licenses.

I have the game loaded on my desktop and play there most of the time.

However occasionally while downstairs, outside or offsite with my laptop I want to be able to play so I use logmein to remotely control my desktop - everything is exactly the way I set it up.

Of course you can connect via any web connected computer (I even have run it on a linux laptop) the only issue I see is for those times you don't have web access - but even some airlines are offereing that these days - so the places you won't have access are rapidly dissapearing.
