Tycobbian Union Elite 8 Series - Game One
Turon Tames Bayview 4-3 in Game 1
At Typhoon Stadium in Turon, the underdog Typhoons tamed the Bayview Vikings 4-3 in game one of their IPA Elite 8 Series. With the bases loaded and one away in the bottom of the ninth, LF Joe Wheeler hit a deep sacrifice fly that scored Boots Dubois with the winning run. Ian Knox (2-0 2.25) got the win with a scoreless ninth and the loss went to Terry Banks (1-1 9.00), who entered the game in the ninth. Turon jumped to an early 2-0 lead with runs in the first two innings, but Bayview came back to tie it on C Hank Bethel two-run homer in the sixth. Both clubs added a run in the seventh to make it 3-3. C Trace Crittenden's (357) solo shot tied it for the Typhoons. Turon outhit the Vikings 10-8.
Game two is slated at Downtown Plaza Stadium in Bayview tomorrow. The Vikings hold the home field advantage.
