Both Eastern Conference Finalists, the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins, have missed the playoffs. This is the second consecutive year that this has happened. (Rangers and Islanders). As a matter of fact, the Penguins went from Stanley Cup Champions to the worst record in the NHL (58-104).
