Recalc Rehash
I posted about a week ago asking about historical drafts to see if real players would eventually show up in the league. Your answers were fantastic, however, it raised more questions in my mind. I think it was tribefan that explained that by using recalc, when these real players come into the league, they should be fairly statistically accurate. I really like this idea, but here are my new questions:
1. What about real players who have had HOF type of starts to their careers that get derailed by injuries. I.E. Teddy Higuerra, Mark Prior, Kerry Wood. What does recalc do to them?
2. What about huge prospects in real life that never made it to the bigs due to injury. I.E. Brien Taylor of 1991. Everyone agreed that he was THE biggest prospect and he got derailed by injury before making it. Does he show up in the draft? Does recalc understand his vast potential that never materialized?
3. What about huge prospects that just sucked I.E Matt Bush? #1 overall pick (if I'm not mistaken) and was awful. Does recalc give him back his potential?
4. I'll just assume that recalc makes a low draft pick that was incredible I.E. mike piazza suddenly a very high draft pick in game.
I guess I'm interested in some of the "what might have been" scenarios, while maintaining some of the integrity of what really was. I expect that pujols and A-roid are going to be at least really good if not dominant like they are in real life. But what about those others? I also understand that the game is going to throw in some random injuries too, so my alternate universe won't completely mimic real life. I like that too.
Oh btw, the reason i have to ask is because I can't do any of this until 10 comes out. My 9 demo ran out and it wouldn't have supported these experiments anyways.
Thanks in advance for your help.
