The system is good enough at doing what it is suppose to do(finding the best teams) it is poor at satisfying what a lot of people want(having the Utah's of the world play Florida and win). I cant say Ive ever really thought the system picked the wrong teams for the championship game so I havent been disappointed like many others. It seems Americans need some sort of playoff system to be happy.
IMO it would be too difficult to narrow a field of over 340 teams down to two. Also, basketball is made for a huge tournament like this. Can you imagine all the great games we would miss if we just put North Carolina and UConn in the championship game right now?
