I've read the write-up on the new pitching system. The main change I can see is that each pitcher will be rated on individual pitch types. But I can't see how that is going to improve my enjoyment of the game. I play strictly with fictional players and readily admit there is much I don't know about the game.

I assume we still won't be able to decide which pitch to throw during a game. (Even if we could it would mean playing pitch-by-pitch mode which takes so long.) So how does knowing that my ace has a great fastball and an decent curve affect how I play the game? And it seems like we already know that to some extent in the current game.

One thing about the current game which I think is unrealistic is how many pitchers can pitch deep into a game. But, I happen to like that kind of baseball so I don't really see it as a problem. WIll the new system change that?

I've seen many comments from posters here that they are looking forward to the improved pitching system. I hoping some can help me understand how this will improve their play. At this point, I'm probably not looking to buy the new game primarily to to concerns about the purchasing process. But if it looks to be a much improved version I might take the plunge. So far I don't see it but I know there is more information to come.

Thanks for reading.
