Oxford Red Caps Sizzle in Second Half, Takes TU North Title

What a second half of the season Campy Roy's Oxford Red Caps had! They played .600 ball and won the Tycobbian Union North by 3 games over the mid-season leader, the Luxora Zorros. At the All-Star break, Roy's Red Caps were in fourth place, but 8 games behind. A hot September won it for them. Oxford was 11-3 in the month, while the Z's faded with an atrocious 4-10 mark. The Red Caps were the only team in the division with a winning record in the second half as they chalked up a sparkling 52-31 mark. Home run power was the decisive element. The Fairfax Frogs came in third, 6 games off the pace and the Mahaska Haymakers finished fourth and trailed by 9 games. The top four teams will vie in the First Round playoffs with Oxford versus the Haymakers and Luxora playing the Frogs in a best-of-three series.
