Wow..I did not see this thread until now. Hopefully this is still relevant.

1) To me, I would like the pitching system revamped. A lot of research has gone into the effects of GB%/LD%/FB%. It seems like the GB% are pretty irrelevant in OOTP9. It should have direct correlation with the amount of HRs allowed.

At the very least, I think HRs allowed should be: 50% Movement + 50% GB%. But one could definitely make the argument that Movement dictates the GB%, so it could (and probably should be): Movement = GB%.

Either way, this is a fundamental flaw to me. I like how the position players are rated and I like how the pitchers are modeled for control and stuff. However, I think that the movement rating is flawed.

2) There are many instances of highly talented pitchers with low endurance ratings that get bounced back and forth between SP and RP. This works for mediocre pitchers like Ryan Franklin who post ERAs in the 4-5 range. However, most of these pitchers end up with lines like 50 games, 20 starts, 2.50 ERA with some saves mixed in. This might have been evident 50 years ago, but certainly not in the modern age.

3) This might be on the verge of a new feature suggestion, but I think it's a fundamental need. The pitches in a pitcher's repertoire should have an influence on the ratings and endurance. For example, a split-finger or cutter should result in a higher GB%/Movement rating. Moreso, the pitches could be rated for quality. The higher number of quality pitches that a pitcher has should reflect their ability as a starting pitcher. Three quality pitches should be a standard for a capable starting pitcher. Those with less, or just one really quality pitch (like JJ Putz) might be much more effective in a relief role versus a starting role.
