...and I'll say, amid all the welcome changes in 2.5, this was one I didn't like and don't understand the reason for. It seemed like a case of fixing what wasn't broken, or at least doing far, far more than was necessary to correct a minor glitch.
Everybody seemed very happy with the revamp of the ranking system in 2.0, except for the rather minor problem that in cases of extreme disparity in the ranking of two fighters, the higher ranked fighter could actually lose a few performance points even with a KO win. I believe the new system assures that everybody gets a minimum of 200 performance points for a win (which actually seems like a lot for extreme mismatches) but 2.5 also decoupled the ranking system from the performance points (which I find particularly unfortunate for my own way of doing things) and we no longer have an explanation of the system, as we had in painstaking detail for 2.0, or any means of tweaking it for to suit our own circumstances, unless I'm missing something.
