"And I still haven't had a shutout in this dynasty"

I said that after the last game.

Can I say this time that I haven't scored 20 runs in a game yet?

Because today at the Baker Bowl, after I bitched about not having a shutout yet, Jorge Montalvo fired a 3-hit shutout to beat Philadelphia 4-0, which made it eight in a row for the Cardinals. He was dominant the whole way through, and got a clutch double play ball with the bases loaded in the 4th. Montalvo also excelled at the plate, going 2 for 4 with an RBI double.

A little concerning is the struggles of John Burt. He's just not up to his dominant self lately as his average has dropped to a HORRIBLE (insert sarcasm) .345.

On to New York!

St. Louis Cardinals: J. Montalvo pitches a 3-hit shutout against the Philadelphia Phillies with 2 strikeouts and 1 BB allowed!

Washington Senators: D. Blake goes 0-4 against the Milwaukee Brewers, ending his hitting streak at 21 games.

The Pittsburgh Pirates traded 28-year old shortstop C. Godwin to the New York Giants, getting 31-year old catcher P. Thomas and 22-year old minor league starting pitcher S. Watson in return.
