Sloppy defense and a late blown lead spelled doom today in St. Louis, as the Cardinals dropped one to the Phillies, 7-6 in 10 innings.

The Cardinals committed seven errors, leading to four unearned Phillie runs, including the winner in the 10th, making a loser out of Pablo Gutierrez.

It didn't help that Downing and Burt went 0-11 either.
