End of Season League Review

Champions
Capital City Ambassadors swept the Minneapolis Loons

American League Award Winners
Outstanding Pitcher SP - Ed MacDonald - Anaheim Amigos
Ed is starting his career off in a great way. In 2045 he was named the AL Newcomer of the Year as well as the Outstanding Pitcher! Looking over his short past, his achievement becomes even more amazing. Ed was a 4th round pick (92nd overall) out of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame and then all the way up the system, Ed had never started a game in his life!! Add to this the fact that his first or second start in the CBA on 4/6/2045 (also 1st or 2nd start of his life) was a NO-HITTER!! In 2 seasons, Ed is 37-15 3.25 ERA. He has 631 K's to only 89 walks. He's only had 4 complete games and turned 24 during the offseason.

Outstanding Hitter RF - Rafael Trevino - Vancouver Loggers
Rafael is a 3-time All-Star and wins his first Outstanding Hitter Award. He interrupts Pat Mayes' run of winning 10 of the previous 11 AL Outstanding Hitter Awards. Rafael hit .345-24-118. He also scored 118 runs and had 55 doubles. He has since signed with the Pittsburgh Bees.

Newcomer of the Year 1B - James Nash - Philadelphia Masons
23 Year-old James Nash won the Newcomer of the Year Award for the American League. James is a 2042 first round pick of the Masons. This past season he was an all-star and hit .314-32-131. He scored 97 runs and showed good plate discipline with 63 walks and 68 strikeouts.

National League Award Winners
Outstanding Pitcher SP - Bryan Pollock - Phoenix Firebirds
Bryan Pollock was 1 of 2 NL pitchers with a 20-win season this season. Bryan was 20-8 with a league leading 2.45 ERA. Bryan also led the league with 267 K's. Bryan was the 3rd overall pick in the 2039 Draft. He also had a NO-HITTER in 2044. In 5 seasons, Bryan is 67-43 3.54.

Outstanding Hitter C - Art Franklin - Brooklyn Knights
This is Art's 2nd Outstanding Hitter Award (2043). He had a monster season hitting .349-40-121. Art led the league in batting, and was 2nd in home runs and RBI. Art was a 2nd round (31st overall) pick in 2034. Art has been a fixture in the lineup for 8 seasons now and has a lifetime line of .337-258-805.

Newcomer of the Year 1B - Alejandro Bustamante - Tampa Bay Sun Rays
Alejandro had a very good season hitting .312-36-97 in his first full CBA season. Alejandro was a 4th round (91st overall) pick of the 2041 draft. He seems to be a late bloomer and finally put things together in 2044 as he was named AA Batter of the Year when he hit .326-18-83.
