The reason I chose MLB debut is because it would make reasarch easier for the lists.

The players enter the league thru the Gambo DB.

This description is spot on:

Barry Larkin, drafted in 84, debut in 86 only played for Reds.
If he's not protected, then he'll just enter through the ammy draft in 84 and whoever wants to pick him can pick him.

But if he is protected, then the Reds get him in 84?

But in a case like Jose Rijo, who was in the NYY and Oak. All three teams can put him on their list, then he'd go in the draft and whoever wins him (any of the teams not just the 3 on his list) would get him when he enters the league in 87 or whatever year.
