As long as you have the correct rotation size set on each team's pitching staff then it will correctly set the rotation regardless of what the "era settings" are. I usually use a 3-man rotation when I sim 1901-1903 but I set Detroit & Washington to 4/5 man rotations since they have some pretty terrible pitchers and this will prevent the "255 overrun" problem. Using 'run computer manager on all teams' works fine even in this scenario. The 14 teams with 3-man rotations are fine and Washington has the proper 4-man rotation and Detriot is set with a 5-man rotation.
