LaGrow Selected as AL Comeback Award Recipient
Detroit Tiger pitcher Lerrin LaGrow has been named the Joy in Mudville American League Comeback Player of the Year.
The 28-year-old LaGrow rebounded from a 20-loss season in 1975 to compile a 20-15 record in '76. The left-hander was a key cog in the Tigers' run to the AL East title.
LaGrow, a product of Arizona State University, lowered his ERA from 3.63 to 3.10.
