The Joy in Mudville National League Gold Glove team features a mix of old and new.
While veterans
Don Money of Philadelphia and
Tony Perez of Cincinnati added yet another Gold Glove to their mantles, the other six recipients were honored for the first time.
The 29-year-old Money won the award for the fifth time. Money has won the award as both a second and third baseman. Willie Davis of Los Angeles is the other NL player to have won five Gold Gloves.
The 34-year-old Perez captured the honor for the fourth consecutive season at first base.
Meanwhile, two rookies--
Omar Moreno of San Francisco and
Ruppert Jones of Los Angeles--each won Gold Gloves.
Houston catcher
Charlie Moore won the award over teammate Steve Yeager, last year's recipient.
