Sure he's giving the league a bad name. When a guy like Avery is in the press all the time, that's a reflection of the league, whether you like to admit it or not. You have someone like that in the press all the time, you don't draw new fans and you turn some of current ones off.
Think about it - If you're trying to draw new fans, who do you want in the Press? Sean Avery or guys like Crosby, Luongo, Iginla? I don't agree with your anology of the world beig divided in half on Avery, but since you put it that way, if you're trying to attract the half that doesn't know who he is to the NHL, you're not going to have a lot of luck by advertising Avery to them. That is what's happening now, Avery is being advertised a lot more than the players who should be. It's too bad the league couldn't convinvce the media to igore him.
He doesn't deserve to be heard. I hope the Stars cut him. I'm sure that no other team will have interest in him.
