I'll be interested in hearing how it is. I just bought this book: Amazon.com: Crazy '08: How a Cast of Cranks, Rogues, Boneheads, and Magnates Created the Greatest Year in Baseball History: Cait N. Murphy: Books at half price books the other day. Looking forward to diving into it first chance I get.
Let me know what you think of Crazy '08 - if not here (since it is not really topically appropriate in the sweet science basement) then in OT. I was going to assign it to a class this summer, but a second reading only confirmed my first impressions.

An ambitious book, could be quite good at times, but is really just dreadfully written - or at least devolves into chapters where the writing is repetitive and the author too insistent on gilding the work with era jargon ("fine fettle" again and again and again.)

And then there is the curious use of tenses.

I really wanted to love the book.

I did not.
