anyone else try to pinch hit w/ a pitcher?
In one playoff game I was pbp'ing, there was a tie score in the 11th and I had a man on 1st w/ no outs and my closer up. Since my closer had a D sac bunt rating and was going to be tired soon anyway, I pinch hit for him w/ my previous game's SP (who had a sac bunt rating of A) w/ the intention of bringing in another reliever next inning. Unfortunately, the game didn't seem to recognize the SP as a pinch hitter, as the SP was inserted into my lineup, but my CL remained in the batter's box. Even worse, since my CL's bunt failed to move the runner to second (so that my CL was then on 1st), a single 2 batters later did not score a run and end the game. This was really bad because I was not able to insert my new reliever next inning, since my SP that I tried to pinch hit with was read as a new pitcher and he had to pitch to at least one batter. But he couldn't even pitch to a batter because I couldn't get out of the lineup screen because there was a "lineup incomplete" error. This apparently happened because there was no "P" in the lineup (the computer failed to give the pinch hitting SP a position). So, since I couldn't take my SP out, I right-clicked on him and tried to give him the P position. Interestingly, P was not avaliable for him, so I tried moving him to 2nd base and substituting a reliever or anyone else at P. I was able to move my SP to 2nd base, but when I tried to put in a bench player at P, it said that my SP had to pitch to at least one batter. So, no matter what I tried, I couldn't complete my lineup and continue the game. I know this is a rather obscure bug, but I was wondering if anyone else had come across this and if it could be fixed.
