Royals & Reds open in FBBL Retro (1992 Season)

FBBL Retro began in the 1988 season and is a product of the FBBL "franchise" of FBBL leagues. The first league was opened in 2001 and we're now on our third restart. So, if it's stability you want it's stability we can offer. We're looking for that same stability out of our GM base and for the most part we have achieved it. We still have 9 GM's that have been here since 2001, 5 more that have been here since 2004 and of the GM's that began with FBBL Retro in 1988 we still have 18 of 26 still here. We've got to be doing something right to keep such a dedicated GM base.

The Royals are one of the franchises we've failed to keep a GM with. For the most part their roster is still in tact as no GM has came in and traded a lot of their talent away or anything like that. The Reds have had pretty stable ownership until here very recently. Here's the low down on both teams.

We are an OOTP 2007/8 league and we have discussed moving to OOTP 9 once it's fully patched and stable. So, it's not out of the question.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

TEAM: Kansas City Royals - Kansas City Royals Home Page
1988 RECORD: 95-67
1989 RECORD: 71-91
1990 RECORD: 76-86
1991 RECORD: 75-87
FARM: 9th out of 26: Featuring Dave Fleming, Dean Palmer and Pat Rapp
FINANCIALS: Strong

ROSTER: The Royals boast one of the better pitching staffs in the league with a Tom Gordon and Bret Saberhagen that have realized their full potential functioning as aces at the top of the rotation. Dave Fleming has also panned out well for them. Offensively they still have the same cast of characters since 1988. Bo Jackson, Danny Tartabull, Mike McFarlane and George Brett. If they ever got a GM that was actively involved the potential is endless for this team.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

TEAM: Cincinnati Reds - Cincinnati Reds Home Page
1988 RECORD: 82-80
1989 RECORD: 79-83
1990 RECORD: 83-79
1991 RECORD: 88-74
FARM: 20th out of 26: Featuring Kenny Lofton, Dan Wilson and Tony Eusebio
FINANCIALS: Strongest in the league with all kinds of cap room.

ROSTER: The Reds have one of the strongest offenses in the national league. All-World leadoff hitter Kenny Loften sets the table for a lineup that includes a prime Barry Larkin, Steve Finley, Hal Morris and Walt Weiss. Their rotation includes Jose Rijo and Rick Reed and they still have two of the nasty boys... Rob Dibble and Norm Charlton. There's certainly an opportunity for great things here.
