I had limited HD space on my old cpu so what I did was save the following htm pages every season:
Lnews.htm,Ltrans.htm, Linj.htm By saving those three pages I have a record of every trade, special achievement and injury to occur each season. Also, at the end of each season I save the boxscore txt files for the playoffs, allstar game and special events like no-hitters or record breaking games. I renamed the files by adding the proper year to the beginning and zipped them all up so I have an enitre history of my league in an 8-10 mb file.

I was also uploading all the league reports (excluding player pages) to a website with my old cpu. Now that I have the new system I have them all downloaded back to my hard drive.

I only wish I came up with this plan in 1901 and not in 1939 so I have very little pre-1939 history on my league. However, the player page trick that I stumbled upon solves most of those concerns.

The other holes in my league history are from 1962-69 when my old cpu lacked the memory to create the htm reports and from 1974-78 which were corrupted when I transferred the floppies from my old system to the new one. But my transactions, injuries and league news files survived from that era and I just recreated all the player pages with the new computer.

So looking up the information was fairly simple. Let's say I want to find Frank Robinson. I use Pierre's player editor to find Robinson's id number. Then I open the player page for Robinson (which is the id number...ie 5580.htm). I have his season by season stats now available to me and if I see he was traded in 1967 I can open the 1967ltrans.htm to see who he was traded for.
Believe, it is a lot quicker and easier than it sounds once you do it a bit.

Hope that helps.
