I agree that it's an international game, but MLB is the main reason it is and still the overwhelming favorite amongst fans of the sport. It should be given the most attention and the game should model it well before anything else is touched.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.
