There are way too many variables to consider that one change would make such a difference.

I have played many seasons using both the rookie draft and assigning to actual teams and, if anything, have found that it is more difficult if the rookies are assigned to their original teams. Expecially if the trading of draft picks is allowed.

BTW in both of these cases, I have never been fired.
