I just looked up Josh Bard in
my version of the MLB Quickstart (there have been so many versions, I would have no idea if it's the same as yours). At 13 on a scale of 1-20, his Greed is up there but not overly excessive.
I don't know how it goes in the interim, but I have seen players make outlandish demands only to settle for much less in the end (to my gloating glee, if he was trying to rip me off). Whether he lowers his demands gradually over time or the AI signs him at a discount all of a sudden near the end of the FA process, I don't know.
