What i m looking for is a variety of traits ie..setup easy fights, go for the big fight early (possibly too early). I am not sure if i can come up with enough different types of promoters to make it work and would really only use this for some of the top rated fighters. Any help would be appreciated.
I think I see where you want to go here. It's funny that promoters play such a big role in determining who fights whom but don't factor at all in the game. I guess at some level, we (the gamers) are the promoters.

Your idea about big fights early/easy fights initially is a very good, insightful approach. Here are just a few of my thoughts--for what they're worth. Since promoters are driven by money (who isn't!) you might want to factor in generous/fair/cheap as an additional variable with respect to what the boxers get for their efforts.

I hate to bring this up but just like society itself, race, religion, and ethnicity have been factors in setting up matches. You might want to also use a bias/unbiased classification. This would be particularly relevant if you were going back in time. Let's say you were biased in favor of Irish fighters, for example, as a promoter you set up matches between Irish fighters and non-Irish stiffs---you know an ethnic based mismatch.

Here's another. You have a champion within your promotion. Do you have him fight all comers or take a protective approach (ex., Floyd Patterson) and have him hold on to the title as long as possible? This is a little variation of your big fight/easy fights idea.

Since TBCB now has a draw rating for the fighters, you might also have promoters who either go with established fighters who are proven draws or those who will give new prospects a shot. Or maybe those who try to balance things out.

I'm not sure what weight you want to give the role of promoters or how you might quantify all of this, but these are a few things that came to mind.

Whether they help or not, I really like your idea and hope you'll keep us posted on your progress
