I do not follow this. I understand you want certain years starting earlier or later, but not what the parathetical means.
Counting up the games, I get 178 for all the teams. However for the number of series I get different numbers for different divisions. With something of this scope and configuration it is not feasible for me to try to juggle the various amounts of 2- and 3-game series into the ultimate layout.
Here is my counter proposal:
- All 2-game series, except two 3-game series per team
- SL1 teams play 14 or 16 games per division opponent (60 total), 6 or 8 games per league opponent (100 total), 0 or 2 games per interleague opponent (18 total)
- SL2 5-team division teams play 16 games per division opponent (64 total), 6 or 8 games per league opponent (94 total), 0 or 2 games per interleague opponent (20 total)
- SL2 4-team division teams play 18 or 20 games per division opponent (56 total), 6 or 8 games per league opponent (102 total), 0 or 2 games per interleague opponent (20 total)
