Here's my thoughts:
1) Infogrames is not my favorite games company. They're usually just on the apathetic side of terrible. It's not a loss to lose their so-called "support" for Season Ticket Baseball.
2) E-licensing is exactly equally lousy as Infogrames, right down to the last iota. The two are different entities, but exactly awful in their usefulness to society as a whole.
So, you pick your poison. Personally, I would have liked to go to the store and buy a packaged game. I design and draw animation for a living. Many of my friends are in the gaming industry. Some design art for game boxes. Others own and run gaming stores. I make enough money now that I like to be able to support those people with my own earnings. There was a time as an artist when I made zero money at all, so I very much appreciate giving artists paying jobs. I think that when you cut artists out of the production team, you're just cheapening your own effort.
Oh, and 3), for Joe Canadian: I am sorry, but I have to point out a spelling error in your last post. The word GOLF is spelled with an "LF" at the end. Your message should correctly read "GOLF LEAFS, GOLF!!"
