Also, unless you make adjustments of your own, the first year never works out right. It will be righted when you move into your second season.
I always start, copy the entire league folder, and quickssim the season. Then I look for things I want to change, delete the league folder, and bring back the copy. After a few goes like that, I can usually get numbers that are close enough to reality for my tastes until the game takes them over after that first season.
And record your changes somewhere for possible future usage. A screenshot of the settings page saved in your pictures file is an easy way.
