the case of the crashing Spring training reports
I have just uploaded my zipped .dat files from the crashing game. I placed them in the proper place following your directions (and yes I did have to download a ftp program (the one that's free for 15 days and $25 after that....)
Glad to see (I think) that I'm not the only one.
I've successfully simmed into season three of this game (by not asking for reports in Spring Training) only to encounter a crash while trying to complete a trade. I have not played the game past that point. So these files would be from the most recent save before that time which was just after the amateur draft in Season Three.
(which brings up another strange happening - or happenings. First of all, for some reason my Rookie League consistently has over 150 guys. At this point - right before amateur draft, it had 198. So I did the draft and then ten days later I get a message that I have people in the DFA category that need to be assigned. I guess the rookie league fills up at 200? Anyway, not knowing this, I simply dragged each player off the DFA roster and onto my rookie roster. Got no error messages, they disappeared off the DFA roster and on I went. Only to get the same message saying I have guys on the DFA roster and it won't advance the sim until I deal with them. But they are now missing from the DFA roster. They don't show up on any other team. So I decided to generate a draft log report to find out everyone I drafted (you think I draft twenty guys by hand?), used the search function at the top of the game window and was able to determine that each was assigned to the big league team even tho they weren't on the active or 40 man rosters. So from each player's page, I was able to demote them to short league or single A and once I did all those things the sim continued. So 1) where are all these extra guys coming from in my rookie league (90% of whom are MRs) and 2) why would the transactions interface allow me to drag them into oblivion like that?)
